Well done to everyone in Class 6 who demonstrated excellent teamwork and leadership skills at our first ‘Computing Celebration Event.’ Class 6 were given the objective of using all of the knowledge they have gained from their time at Copeland Road to lead a variety of computing based activities to the other classes in the school. Activities included using the Remote Control Cars, Bee Bots, Purple Mash on the iPads, Millie’s Mouse Skills on the desktops as well as Vex Go. Everyone had a fantastic day! Thank you to parents and the governing body for attending.

Over the last two weeks we have managed to raise £525 from our sponsored read which is fantastic! Thank you to all those who have taken part and those who have sponsored pupils. We are very excited to buy some new books for each class!

We received this lovely pack of books from the Angel Trust on Friday. Thank you to who ever nominated the school, we can’t wait to share these books with the children.
World Book Day
Thank you to pupils, parents and staff for making such an effort with their World Book Day outfits. Everyone looked fantastic! We had a brilliant day celebrating reading. Here are some photos we would like to share from yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon pupils had the chance to listen to the teachers favourite short story books. We had a carousel and each class visited all of the teachers in their classroom. It was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by pupils and staff.
Privacy Notice School Attendance Data Collection
We are taking part in the Department for Educations School Attendance Data Collection programme.
The DfE are encouraging schools that normally complete the school census to sign up to a new real-time attendance data collection trial. The DfE state that they have been working closely with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) on their data protection impact assessment (DPIA) and intend to publish the DPIA and related privacy notices shortly and they will be share them more widely at that point.

Our Curriculum
Our Curriculum
We have been working hard to make our hall displays interesting and exciting! Our subject leaders have created displays that show all the fascinating topics that we cover from Reception to Year 6. More information about our Curriculum can be found on our Curriculum Content page.
Special Delivery!
In school, we are aware of how difficult life is at the moment for everyone. We wanted to do something special for all of our pupils (whether they are currently working very hard at school or working very hard at home!) to remind them that we are thinking of you all and can’t wait to have you safely back in school. Those children in school will receive their special delivery tomorrow and those at home will have theirs delivered either Thursday or Friday afternoon. They have been in quarantine so are ready to be cuddled!
Enjoy and stay safe from all the staff at Copeland Road!
PS Please send us some photos directly to Mrs Murray!
Safer Internet Day 9th February 2021
Safer Internet Day will be on the 9th February 2021. This year the theme is ‘an internet we trust: exploring reliability in the online world.’ The internet has an amazing range of information and opportunities for users, but how do we separate fact from fiction?
At Copeland Road Primary, our children are immersed in a positive online environment. The children from Reception to Year 6 are given the important life skills needed to ensure they use the internet safely. The children are encouraged to question and challenge information found online. It has never been more important to make sure children are using the internet safely.
Starting school? There is still time to apply.
Although potential new starters can’t visit school at the moment, they can watch the video that we created and give us a ring for further information about our school. We understand that applying for a place in a new school can be a difficult decision to make and want to support parents with this in any way we can.
