Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum is made up of six areas of learning and development -Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication, Language and Literacy; Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Physical Development and Creative Development.

Following a review of the curriculum last year we are now delivering a more creative curriculum by teaching through a series of themes. These themes help to bring together subjects such as history, geography, art and technology. The children are finding that this approach is much more interesting and is helping to improve their learning. As the rolling programme of themes develops they will focus on science, humanities and the arts. If parents have any comments or questions about the themes please speak to your child's class teacher.
