WE Schools is a unique, four-step programme which is delivered in more than 12,000 schools across the UK and North America. It challenges young people to identify the local and global issues that spark their passion and then empowers them with the tools to take action.
Our school was very lucky to have been invited to attend the WE Day celebration at Wembley Arena in London. Students from across the UK flooded into the Arena. The day ahead promised a look at some of the UK’s best and brightest performers, entrepreneurs and social activists, including actress Lily Collins, musician Tokio Myers and young advocates like Hayley Mulenda.
As the day pressed on, the power to make change was shown to the audience, especially when Katie Piper took to the stage with an encouraging message of overcoming adversity. The action came to an end when pop singer HRVY took the stage. On the way back to the coach the kids were still humming his hit tune “Personal”.
It was an exhausting day but the children were really inspired by the vast array of inspirational speakers they saw. The class are now busy planning various events to raise money for several charities.
